This page really has been needed for decades ... nay, centuries! (Asda: is that shirk?!)
May I start with an ode to our dear Shafiq:
Imagine if the trench coat was grey, then that would surely resemble Shafiq wearing a Trilby hat!! Also, Shafiq's occasionally whacky motions are somewhat similar to Grover from Sesame Street.
Uh-oh, hold on, I feel a poem coming on:
In garavta yaa Shafiqu garavta Hamsaa
Wa man minal insi ma'iya khaSmaa
Laakin idh karasta fa waqa'ta feehi khasraa
(OR Laakin idh karasta fa aSbaHta boobaayaa)
Bal kun ka'annaka muDHhikun shaariban khamraa
When you behave like Grover O Shafiq you do so with passion
And who from mankind can argue with me
But when you act like Krusty (the clown from The Simpsons) you fall down in a heap
(OR But when you act like Krusty you become Popeye)
Nay, rather you need to act like a clown who is drunk
OK OK, heres what he really looks like ... or is it ?
OK OK, heres what happened the last time he tried to drive a car. It was commented to him, "Can you even drive?" to which he replied, "No, can you?".

Now we have another side to Shafiq, his prowess on the tennis court. Out of humility he denies it, but he IS Roger Federer. My proof? Well, put it this way, I have never seen both of them at once in the same room!!
This was him at the French Open in Paris last spring.
This was after his recent US Open win about a couple of weeks ago.
Another thing to note about Shafiq is his amazingly high standards of modesty for women. The classic naSeeHah of "ikshifi wajhik" (reveal your face!) to a Yemeni sister asking for money...when she wasn't even wearing a niqaab is just...deep!!
