Individual stuff:

Torch
Water proofs
(you know the score)
Note (Mahmud): It has been brought to my attention that people are to basically come dressed in white / brown(awif) bunny rabbit suits in order to allay any onlookers feelings of a Mujahideen reconaissance group in South Wales. Can we confirm what is suitable attire and more importantly who the ameer is?
(Shafiq): I think Arif mentioned this before. We are all middle aged professionals and we are hardly doing anything untoward — in fact we are essentially having a glorified BBQ. So I think wear whatever you like (with in reason). Since this camping trip was started in Arifs initiative, I believe he has the honour of being the Amir.

Itinerary:
StreetmapURL
Friday:
Arrive at the south side of the Neuadd Reservoirs (the lower resevoir) and park the cars.
Walk to the North end of the upper reservoir.
Check out the island in the middle of the north reservoir; the reservoir level has significantly lowered of late and last time we went the island was accessible from the north end of the reservoir.
Set up camp on the island.
Have a BBQ!
Saturday:
Whoever wants to can take a day walk up the cliffs to the east and then north to the three brecon peaks and then south again back to camp.
At night have another BBQ!
Sunday:
Chill
Go home
If thats not relaxed then I dont know what is!
If anyone has any good ideas of what else we can do, please add it.
McMood's Suggestion:
Can we do some cool Ray Mears shelter builds with cool fire starting tecnhiques? I have some DVD's of Ray Mears at work, if those with prior experience wish to view it and teach the rest of us.
I know it seems reaally childish but we had this on some other camps which we did with some younger current uni brothers, in that we had a small team competition, in which we had certain "egg" protection systems. Now most people did not really want to do it but after they did do it, they have always found this the best part of the camp! In building team skills, basic survival stuff etc. I dunno, what do people think? Maybe we can split the group into two now, and they can each go away together and get research material on what and how to do a certain allocated task and put it into action on one of the afternoons of the camp. Allahu Alam. Just an Idea before everyone starts slating me...!

, or pair up? Or even maybe we allocate different tasks to different groups, like one group makes shelter, one group makes a decent camp fire, one group makes food etc - all from the surrounding natural environment alone. Dunno, too ambitious perhaps, at the end of the day nothing like British Gas Central Heating and a microwave to cook one's food, while sleeping on a nice king size bed?!
(Shafiq) I think that is a wonderful suggestion. Building shelters isn't happening — lets be honest — but other things that may be useful and interesting sounds good.
p.s If the island cannot be accessed or someone else has got there before us, there is a second fairly good camp site between the two rivers to the north west of the reservoir.
p.p.s Make dua the weather is good, but it's the company that is really important

Weather Check
http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/14days.asp
Well, you cannot get the weather just as yet for our proposed weekend of the 21st, but the days before it till the 19th seem rather promising. Temperatures in the range of the 15 degrees and sunshine with light winds of upto 10mph.
Or perhaps it is the calm before the storm....
